Nationwide Jingle Challenge High School Music Contest Frequently Asked Questions
Calling all high school musicians! The Nationwide Jingle Challenge High School Music Contest is underway. Here, you’ll find information on contest eligibility requirements, how to enter and prize details. For more information, please see our Official Rules.
1. Who is eligible to participate?
The contest is open to officially recognized High School musical groups (choirs, orchestras, bands, glee clubs, etc.) in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Entries should be submitted by a musical group director, teacher or authorized staff member who has appropriate permission from their school to participate.
2. Do I need to be a Nationwide customer to enter?
You do not need to be a Nationwide customer to participate. There is no purchase necessary to enter or win.
3. What should my entry include?
Entries should include an original video of an eligible musical group performing a version (vocal or instrumental) of the Nationwide Jingle (“Nationwide is on your side”). The post should also include the hashtag #NationwideChallengeContest, and tag @Nationwide on TikTok. Also, don’t forget to make the settings on the video public (so we can see your entry!).
4. Is there anything my entry should not include?
Please don’t include any third-party brands or logos in the video, and the entry shouldn’t mention or tag anyone other than the musical group/school and @Nationwide. Also, the video must be an original post (not a stitch, duet, or reply to another TikTok).
5. When is the contest open?
The contest begins at 6a.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, and will end at 7:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.
6. How many winners will there be and how will they be chosen?
The five (5) qualified entries with the highest number of likes on TikTok will be chosen as potential winners.
7. Do likes on other social media platforms count?
No, only likes on qualified videos on TikTok count for this contest.
8. What is the winning prize?
Nationwide will make a contribution of $5,000 to support the school music programs associated with each of the five (5) winning groups.
9. When/how will the winners be announced?
Winners will be notified on or about Dec. 15, 2023, via private message on the TikTok platform.
10. Can a school enter more than one musical group?
Yes! Schools can submit entries for more than one musical group, but there can only be one winner per school. Also, multiple groups from the same school can collaborate on a single entry.
11. Why is Nationwide hosting this contest?
Nationwide has supported education and educators for decades through programs like Prom Promise, the Golden Owl Award and helps teachers prepare for and live in retirement once their time in the classroom is over.
