Connecting Kids to Nationwide’s Business on National Bring A Child to Work Day

On National Bring A Child to Work Day, Nationwide welcomed more than 1,700 children to its campuses across the country to give Nationwide employees’ children and grandchildren a glimpse into what working at Nationwide is like.

This year’s event was hosted at six Nationwide locations and virtually, supported by more than 250 employee volunteers and featured a schedule with over 160 curated sessions. A new remote option extended the day to employees and their children who don’t live near a campus, ensuring more families could be part of the experience no matter where they live.

“Through Bring A Child to Work Day, our employees’ children can experience Nationwide’s caring culture and see how the adults in their life work to make a difference every day,” said Vinita Clements, Nationwide’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “By pairing age-appropriate learning with real workplace experiences, we hope to inspire new possibilities, spark curiosity and show the many ways a future at Nationwide can take shape.”

From hands-on simulations that brought Nationwide’s insurance, financial services and technology expertise to life, to interactive learning with community partners, each session was intentionally tied to Nationwide’s mission of protecting people, businesses and futures with extraordinary care. The programming was designed for children grades 1–12, and sessions were developed by age and interest, helping families build a day that felt right for each child.

“Each year, Bring a Child to Work Day reminds us that our work starts at home and in our communities,” said Kirt Walker, Nationwide’s Chief Executive Officer. “When children see the adults in their lives living our values, helping others and giving back, they start to imagine what’s possible for themselves – and we’re proud to invest in the people and families who make Nationwide special.”

Last year’s event drew more than 1,400 children to four Nationwide locations, and the continued growth of the program reflects how meaningful the tradition has become for employees and their families. With expanded locations, a unique virtual option and personalized experience to keep the day running smoothly, Nationwide remains committed to investing in the next generation and celebrating the families who are at the heart of its culture.
