Celebrating Family and Community on National Bring A Child to Work Day

Entering the office alongside their parents and grandparents and receiving their very own “Junior Associate” badge was just the start of an educational and fun-filled day for the children of Nationwide employees.

Nationally celebrated, Bring A Child to Work Day offers children a unique opportunity to step into their parents' shoes for the day and learn more about professional life. At Nationwide’s campuses in Columbus, Des Moines, New York City and Scottsdale, children were offered a variety of sessions that combined learning with fun, making the day both memorable and impactful.

“Through Bring A Child to Work Day, our employees’ children can experience Nationwide’s caring culture and learn more about what their parents and grandparents do every day,” said Vinita Clements, Nationwide’s Chief Human Resources Officer. “By involving children in the workplace, we hope to inspire the next generation and provide them with valuable insights into the professional world.”

In total, more than 1,400 children ages 8-18 participated across all four locations.

With larger campuses in Columbus and Des Moines, Nationwide employees could choose from a variety of sessions to fill their day, aligning to their child’s age and interests. While many sessions tie back to Nationwide’s mission and values, the company also partners with local community organizations like zoos and science centers to offer even more interactive opportunities. There are also a variety of self-directed activities that families can do throughout the day.

“We appreciate all that our employees do to help run the sessions and are grateful to our community partners for helping create memorable experiences for our families. We look forward to hosting this event each year,” Clements said.
