Support for victims of this weekend’s tornadoes

This past weekend, at least 37 tornadoes touched down in southern and midwestern states, causing at least 80 deaths and widespread devastation – most notably in Mayfield, Ky.

In response, Nationwide adjusters are connecting with policyholders both remotely and in-person where allowed by local officials.

At the same time, the Nationwide Foundation made a $250,000 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to support assistance for those affected by the storms.

"The video of the destruction is unimaginable," said Nationwide CEO Kirt Walker. “It’s clear that many communities will need a tremendous amount of help to recover and rebuild. We are already on the ground to help our customers affected by the storms, and the Foundation’s gift to the Red Cross will provide direct relief to those who most urgently need it.”

Gifts to American Red Cross Disaster Relief enable the organization to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small by providing food, shelter, emotional support, clean-up kits and other assistance for those in need. People interested in donating to the Red Cross may donate online at www.redcross.org or call 1-800 RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
