Springfield Dog Wins Minor League Baseball’s Nationwide Dog Dugout Sweepstakes

Amelia’s illustration featured in redesigned logo

A six-year-old Labrador retriever from Springfield, Ohio has scored an All-Star honor. Amelia was announced as the grand prize winner of the Nationwide Dog Dugout sweepstakes presented in partnership with Minor League Baseball™ (MiLB™). The Nationwide Dog Dugout website celebrates the lineup of team bat dogs and ballpark dogs around the country in MiLB parks.

Amelia, who was randomly selected from more than 18,000 national entries, won the opportunity to have her illustration likeness integrated into the new design of the Nationwide Dog Dugout logo.

Accepting additional prizes on Amelia’s behalf is pet parent Lyndsay Lemon who says the pair’s favorite MiLB team is the Columbus Clippers. As part of the grand prize package, Lyndsey and Amelia will receive top dog treatment with a VIP experience at Huntington Park during the Clippers’ next season. Amelia and Lyndsay also fetched a $500 Petco gift card; a one-year subscription to BarkBox; and a gift basket from Nationwide Pet.

“We were very happy when we found out that Amelia was the grand prize winner of the Nationwide Dog Dugout sweepstakes. She is enjoying all of her cool prizes,” said Lyndsay. “We are excited for everyone to see the new logo. Amelia can’t wait to attend her first Columbus Clippers game.”

According to Lyndsay, Amelia's favorite activity is fetching her frisbee and tennis balls. There is no word yet on whether Amelia has added bats and baseballs to her fetch routine to challenge for an official MiLB roster spot in the Nationwide Dog Dugout.
