Ryan Praskovich, a senior consultant at Nationwide’s Cyber Security Operation Center, has been internationally recognized as a cyber security leader.

In an era where cyber-attacks, data breaches, and threat actors dominate headlines, the significance of cyber security has never been more important. This year, the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center  (FS-ISAC), a member-driven, not-for-profit organization that advances cybersecurity and resilience in the international financial system, named Praskovich as its North American 2024 Global Leaders award winner.

“The current global cyber threat landscape is increasingly complex, with nation-state threats joining the ranks of third-party attacks, zero-day vulnerabilities, and ransomware,” said Nationwide Chief Information Security Officer Todd Lukens. “Ryan’s recognition as a Global Leader highlights his dedication to safeguarding not only the data of Nationwide’s customers, but the data of millions around the world who rely on a secure global financial system.”

The FS-ISAC Global Leaders awards program recognizes members who demonstrate extraordinary commitment and dedication to advancing the security and resilience of the financial sector. Awardees are recognized for their contributions in intelligence sharing, security leadership, and resilience efforts.

Praskovich, honored for the North American region, has been acknowledged for his exceptional support and involvement in cyber and fraud sharing, which has helped prevent and defend against cyber-attacks. Nationwide is in the top 1% of FS-ISAC’s membership in cyber sharing and the top sharer of cyber fraud threats. At Nationwide, Praskovich was a leader in the development of the company’s phishing awareness program. He is also a member of FS-ISAC’s Threat Intelligence Committee for the North American region, a committee that is responsible for setting the cyber threat level for the region.

For over 25 years, FS-ISAC has been pivotal in enhancing cybersecurity and resilience within the global financial system. The organization protects financial institutions and the people they serve, ensuring the continuity and resilience of the global financial services infrastructure against threats that could disrupt the sector’s ability to provide critical services.

“Nationwide’s customers and partners are fortunate to have Ryan working for them,” Lukens said.  “His efforts in sharing cyber intelligence and knowledge have been instrumental in defending the industry against cyber risks, making him a deserving recipient of this prestigious award.”
