The City of Lincoln, Nebraska, announced that Nationwide Retirement Solutions will now provide recordkeeping and education services for its 457(b) and 414(h) deferred retirement contribution plans. The plans have more than $380 million in assets under management and approximately 1,955 plan participants.

For the past 20 years, Nationwide has worked closely with the City of Lincoln to provide 457(b) plan services to their employees with a focus in helping firefighters prepare for and live in retirement. When the City of Lincoln decided to consolidate the 457(b) and 414(h) retirement plans to one provider, the positive relationship, lower participant fees and enhanced service model led the plan to select Nationwide.

“Nationwide offered better participant experiences and outcomes,” said Melissa Zahourek, Benefits Manager for the City of Lincoln. “Their approach toward providing education and financial planning will give our employees what they need to make the best financial decisions for themselves and their families. Combine that with reduced fees and the decision to go with Nationwide was an easy one.”

“At Nationwide, we share the City of Lincoln’s commitment to providing their plan participants with the essential tools and resources to help them reach their retirement goals,” said Craig Hawley, senior vice president of Retirement Solutions Distribution at Nationwide. “We are proud of earning the Plan Participant Service Award for the 10th year and look forward to enabling their employees’ financial futures through our award-winning customer service.”

For the 10th consecutive year, Nationwide Retirement Solutions has been awarded DALBAR’s Plan Participant Service Award for its exceptional phone support.
