Nationwide sponsors Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Nationwide’s commitment to honoring its members and associates who served in the military is just one of the many reasons why Nationwide is recognized as a company that cares.On November 9, the company sponsored Honor Flight Columbus which took 99 veterans from all four branches of the military to Washington D.C. to honor their service and visit the war memorials dedicated to them. They served in WWII, Vietnam and the Korean War.

Six Nationwiders volunteered as guardians and 71 served as ground crew for the Nationwide-sponsored flight. Additionally, the Nationwide Scrapbook Club and other associates created over 300 handmade thank you cards for the veterans that were signed by hundreds of associates.“Nationwide is proud to be able to express our gratitude and appreciation for veterans’ service to our country through this trip to Washington D.C.,” says CEO Kirt Walker. “We’re thrilled that our sponsorship of Honor Flight has created special memories for veterans and Nationwide volunteers alike, now for our eighth time.”
