Nationwide Retirement Solutions has named Barbie Walsh to lead its combined Institutional and Consultant Relationship teams.

In her expanded role, Walsh will oversee both teams and help advance the company’s strategy across government and corporate institutional markets. She will report to Brenda Casey Anderson, associate vice president, Strategic Relationship Management, Retirement Solutions Distribution.

“Barbie has consistently demonstrated the leadership, market insight and relationship focus needed to help us serve clients and consultants at the highest level,” said Brenda Casey Anderson, associate vice president, Strategic Relationship Management, Retirement Solutions Distribution. “She brings deep retirement industry experience and a strong history of leading teams through growth and change. I am confident Barbie will help strengthen how we serve the market, deepen relationships across government and corporate institutional segments, and continue positioning our business for long-term success.”

Walsh previously led Institutional Markets and most recently had been serving as interim leader of the Consultant Relationships team.

She brings 27 years of experience in the retirement plans industry spanning operations, relationship management and leadership. Walsh joined Nationwide five years ago to help serve and grow the company’s institutional client base. In her prior role as Institutional Relationship Director, she led some of Nationwide’s largest institutional and ERISA-qualified client relationships and helped shape the company’s institutional service strategy.
