Nationwide receives top honors in J.D. Power 2018 Group Retirement Plan Satisfaction Study

Retirement plans business scored 26 points above industry average for mixed plan segment

Columbus, OH - Nationwide received the highest ranking for overall satisfaction in the J.D. Power 2018 Group Retirement Plan Satisfaction Study. Nationwide ranked number one in the mixed plan segment, reflecting the firm’s commitment to serving the retirement planning needs of both large and small plans while working to help America prepare for and live in retirement.

“Nationwide assists employers in offering a successful retirement plan by providing more value and better service,” said John Carter, president of retirement plans for Nationwide. “Receiving the highest ranking in this year’s J.D. Power Group Retirement Plan Satisfaction Study validates both our commitment to the participant experience and position as an industry leader.”

With an index score of 770 on a 1,000-point scale in the inaugural 2018 Group Retirement Plan Study, Nationwide scored 26 points above the industry average. More than 9,500 retirement plan participants rated companies on six factors: interaction across live and digital channels; investment and service offerings; fees; plan features; information resources; and communications. Nationwide scored well in all areas.

“Nationwide’s retirement plans business has experienced above-industry growth in the past five years, reflecting our commitment to building a culture of excellence,” noted Carter. “However, the greatest measure of our success is the satisfaction of our clients and our ability to help them reach their retirement goals.”

Nationwide supports retirement plan clients of all sizes and types in both the public and private sector, serving the retirement planning needs of more than 2.4 million American workers with $135 billion in retirement assets as of May 31, 2108.
