Nationwide Names Kevin Devine Leader of Advisor-Sold 401(k) Business

Columbus, OH -

Nationwide took another step in growing its retirement plans business, naming Kevin Devine the leader of its advisor-sold 401(k) business, reporting to Eric Stevenson.

In this role, Devine will provide strategic direction to drive sales growth across the private-sector book of business and build on the growing sales momentum within retirement plans. He brings deep knowledge of the 401(k) industry and strong sales leadership experience to the role. Devine has served as the divisional vice president of Nationwide’s Northeast region since 2011, where he consistently led his team of wholesalers to achieve strong sales growth. He joined Nationwide in 2000, taking on roles of increasing responsibility in financial services sales.

“Our sales staff is one of the largest and most tenured in the industry and includes several wholesalers who are recognized by the National Association of Plan Advisors as top service providers,” said Eric Stevenson, senior vice president of retirement plan sales for Nationwide. “Kevin’s leadership and experience will help us continue to expand our market share and increase our 401(k) plan sales across the country.”

Nationwide’s experience in serving the needs of America’s small and medium-sized businesses, and public-sector plans across our country’s largest states, cities and counties and first responders, puts the company at an advantage to best understand and meet the unique retirement readiness needs of plan sponsors and their participants.

“Nationwide remains strongly committed to the markets, distribution partners, third-party administrators, consultants, plan sponsors and participants it works with today,” noted Stevenson. “We remain focused on accelerating our top-line sales growth and are investing more than ever in tools and technology to help America’s workers prepare for and live in retirement.”

Earlier this year, Nationwide announced that it was aligning its retirement plans distribution team under the leadership of Eric Stevenson.

Nationwide is the largest1 provider of public-sector retirement plans in the United States. Its retirement plans business serves more than 2.4 million retirement plan participants in nearly 39,000 plans.
