Nationwide Named to the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For List for the Second Consecutive Year

Columbus, Ohio - Nationwide celebrates its second consecutive year on Fortune magazine’s list of 100 Best Companies to Work For®. The annual survey is the national benchmark for rating companies that deliver high performance while creating an outstanding and supportive corporate culture.

“We are proud to once again be recognized as one of the Best Companies to Work For,” said Steve Rasmussen, CEO for Nationwide. “This award highlights our culture of caring that is brought to life by our associates. Because of them, it is possible for Nationwide to deliver its On Your Side® promise and make a difference in the lives of our members, communities and each other.”

Nationwide is intentional about creating a great work experience and continuously evolves its approach to providing associates with innovative talent development strategies, as well as benefits and resources to meet their individual needs. The company provides health and wellness perks, educational assistance, financial planning services, legal services, a 401(k) package and a defined benefit pension. Nationwide also has generous and inclusive parental leave and paid time-off policies.

Nationwide’s culture provides a powerful employment experience that promotes meaningful and engaging opportunities for associates across the organization to grow and develop their careers and to create great impact on its members.

“Nationwide has enabled and inspired me to continue to grow both personally and professionally. With a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, its culture aligns with my values,” said Ramon Jones, regional vice president, and 16-year associate. “Performance is expected and rewarded. It is truly a great place to work.”

The recognition by Fortune follows other local and national honors Nationwide has received in the past year recognizing the company’s dedication to its members, its commitment to diversity, the breadth of career opportunities and the numerous programs and resources available to associates. This includes being recognized by Gallup for four consecutive years with the Great Workplace Award, receiving a 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for 11 consecutive years, plus many other top workplace awards.

Fortune partners annually with Great Place to Work® to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America to identify the 100 Best Companies to Work For®. Two-thirds of a company’s survey score is based on the results of the Trust Index© Employee Survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. This survey asks questions related to employees’ attitudes about management’s credibility, overall job satisfaction, and camaraderie. The other third is based on responses to the Culture Audit©, which includes detailed questionnaires about pay and benefit programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring practices, methods of internal communication, training, recognition programs and diversity efforts.
