Nationwide Jingle Still Part of Peyton Manning’s Life, Even in Retirement

Columbus, Ohio - His football playing days may be behind him, but retired quarterback Peyton Manning still finds that the Nationwide jingle is part of his everyday life. That’s the theme of Nationwide’s latest commercial released today, starring the former Denver Broncos quarterback.

In “Lunch,” viewers find Peyton discussing his retirement with a friend while at a restaurant. This time, instead of Peyton jingling his thoughts to the people around him, the restaurant patrons and staff speak to him in jingles.

The idea for the commercial came from actual experiences that Peyton had with fans singing the Nationwide jingle to him.

“This commercial is creative, fun and captures what has happened to me during these past few years since I’ve been doing these Nationwide spots,” said Peyton Manning.

Peyton's retirement from pro football provides Nationwide with a unique opportunity to showcase the wide variety of products and services we offer, like retirement products, banking, investments and insurance,” said Terrance Williams, chief marketing officer for Nationwide. “No matter if you’re an NFL quarterback, a small-business owner, a pet lover or just someone who wants to protect the things that matter most, Nationwide stands ready to help you protect your many sides with our breadth of products and services.”

The spot will make its broadcast premiere on Thursday, Sept. 8, during Thursday Night Football on NBC featuring Carolina versus Denver.

This is Peyton’s second Nationwide ad since his football retirement.
