Nationwide Completes Rebrand of Scottsdale Insurance Company

Columbus, OH - Nationwide has completed the rebranding of Scottsdale Insurance Company to Nationwide and will continue to offer excess & surplus and specialty solutions as the E&S/Specialty business unit. In September 2014, Nationwide announced it was beginning the process of converting all of its operations to leverage its strongest brand asset—Nationwide is on your side—along with the diverse product offerings and financial stability the company offers.

“The excess & surplus and specialty markets have been an important part of Nationwide’s portfolio of solutions for decades,” said Mark Berven, president, Nationwide Property & Casualty. “Combining the strength of our brand with the expertise of our E&S/Specialty team will help fuel growth and build on our position as a leader in the industry.”

Agents and brokers who write business in the excess & surplus and specialty marketplace will continue to enjoy the stability of a Fortune 100 company with superior credit ratings. They will also receive the agility and responsiveness of a niche insurance carrier that provides premiere claim service and one-on-one support from risk solution advisors.

“Though our brand has changed, our formula for success has not,” said Tom Clark, president of Nationwide’s E&S/Specialty business. “We are steadfast in our commitment to our agency partners and to providing the specialized solutions they’ve come to expect from us. And we are committed to maintaining what truly sets us apart in the industry – our people and our values.”

The E&S/Specialty team at Nationwide will continue to underwrite products with Scottsdale Insurance and affiliated companies and will remain in Scottsdale, Arizona, which Nationwide has identified as a strategic “go forward” location. The company’s Scottsdale campus is the home of roughly 1,500 associates who support E&S/Specialty, Nationwide Private Client, property & casualty regional operations and support functions for other Nationwide business lines.
