Joseph Aniano

As leader of the Investment Management Group (IMG), Joe is responsible for Nationwide’s $77+ billion investment advisor offering products across financial intermediary channels, retirement plans and insurance platforms. He oversees investment strategy, product development, distribution and fund operations, and serves as President & CEO of Nationwide Funds.

Since 2021, Joe has served as President of Nationwide Securities, LLC (NSLLC) within IMG, where he led the brokerage firm/RIA responsible for delivering investment and advice solutions direct-to-consumer and through business partners. Under Joe’s leadership, NSLLC transformed and modernized its broker-dealer operations – realigning its business model, restoring profitability and enhancing the client experience. Joe also served as Head of IMG Product Lifecycle Management and Head of National Accounts prior to leading NSLLC.

Prior to Nationwide, Joe worked at UBS in various leadership roles, including Head of Investment Management Research where he led a team of professionals responsible for investment research across the UBS Wealth Management platform. Earlier in his career, he was with BBR Partners, an industry leading RIA, and Morgan Stanley.

Joe earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Marist University, where he played D1 lacrosse, and an MBA from Adelphi University. He holds his FINRA Series 7, 24, 66 and 99 licenses and the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation. Joe is also Executive Sponsor of Nationwide’s Military Associate Resource Group.
