Iowa honors Nationwide® for Pioneering Safety Initiatives in Agriculture
No. 1 farm insurer’s commitment to agriculture safety recognized with Ag Leader Award for community leadership
Nationwide has a storied history in protecting America’s agriculture industry, dating back to its founding by the Ohio Farm Bureau in 1926.
The company has also taken a leadership position in defending against common but deadly hazards in rural America. Since initiating its national Grain Bin Safety campaign in 2014, Nationwide and its partners have contributed nearly $2 million in equipment and training to first responders, helping save 13 lives. Additionally, the company’s new Let’s Champion Rider Safety initiative aims to curb alarming statistics around the dangers of improper ATV and UTV use.
On March 31, Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig recognized Nationwide with an Ag Leader Award for its efforts to help the agriculture community. The award was presented during the 12th Annual Iowa Ag Leaders Dinner, held on National Ag Day, as part of the state’s weeklong Iowa Ag Week celebration.
Brad Liggett, President of Agribusiness at Nationwide, expressed his gratitude: “We are honored to receive the Ag Leader Award from Secretary Naig. This recognition underscores our commitment to the safety and well-being of the agricultural community. We will continue to champion initiatives that protect and support those who feed America.”
