Giavonni Lucas
SVP, Chief Diversity and Talent Acquisition Officer
Giavonni is the senior vice president and chief diversity and talent acquisition officer at Nationwide. In this role, Giavonni establishes and oversees the development, implementation and operation of all corporate diversity, equity and inclusion work, including strategic programs, procedures and policies to advance Nationwide’s culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. As the head of talent acquisition, Giavonni has responsibilities for associate and executive talent acquisition, university relations, internship programs, relocation services, immigration services and talent acquisition process operations. He leads the service delivery of recruiting strategies and initiatives to attract and retain talent for Nationwide.
Externally, Giavonni advances our brand and reputation through diverse strategic partnerships, recruiting relationships, philanthropy and community engagements. Giavonni is the company diversity, equity and inclusion thought leader and strategic business partner to senior leadership.
Giavonni is a driven leader, collaborator and innovator. He has been instrumental in building strategic partnerships that lead to the growth and engagement of associates while also becoming a trusted advisor supporting the achievement of business results.
As a career Nationwider, Giavonni has broad Nationwide expertise and a passion for developing talent. His leadership and mentorship outside of his formal positions provide an invaluable perspective to support Nationwide’s caring, inclusive culture. Past leadership roles include vice president of P&C learning and development, claims technical director and customer experience strategy, claims director of learning and performance, and associate vice president of sales and distribution.
Giavonni is active in the community and currently serves on the boards of the Columbus Urban League and Mansion Day School. He also serves on the advisory board for Le Moyne College McNeil Academy of Risk Management and Insurance and is the immediate past president of his alma mater’s alumni association.
Giavonni has a bachelor’s degree in business from Le Moyne College and a master’s degree in human services management from Franklin University.
