For 18 years, the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship has been a premier event on the Korn Ferry Tour and a career springboard for many professional golfers, but it’s the tournament’s philanthropic mission that sets it apart.

During a gathering to celebrate that community impact, tournament officials announced that the 2024 Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship raised a record-setting $3.6 million, eclipsing last year’s previous record of $3.3 million. The total marks the largest single-season charitable donation raised for the hospital in the history of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals event and the fourth straight year of exceeding $3 million. Since its inception in 2007, the tournament has raised nearly $30 million to support pediatric cancer treatment and research at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

“The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship continues to reach impressive fundraising heights each year, truly setting the bar as a best-in-class Korn Ferry Tour Finals event,” said John Carter, president and chief operating officer for Nationwide Financial and chairman of Champions of the Community, the host organization for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship. “We’re incredibly grateful for the steadfast support of our business partners, the commitment of our tournament staff and volunteers, and the willingness of our Patient Champions to share their stories.”

“The Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship has helped provide hope to children with cancer and their loved ones for 18 years, with nearly $30 million donated to support innovative research and care,” said Tim Robinson, chief executive officer of Nationwide Children’s. “We are grateful for the dedication of the tournament’s sponsors, volunteers and supporters for helping make our work possible.”

Since 2011, Nationwide’s sports marketing partnerships have contributed more than $68 million to Nationwide Children’s. Beyond the golf-related fundraising from Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and the Memorial Tournament’s Legends Luncheon, additional support comes from partnerships with the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & ½ Marathon, the Columbus Crew and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
