New electrical risk inspection and monitoring capabilities amp up proactive protection

Nationwide partners with Teledyne FLIR and PrevTech to offer agriculture customers easier access to electrical risk management tools

by Graham Shippy

Farms and commercial agribusinesses rely on complex electrical systems to support critical operations and processes. Without regular maintenance and inspection, these systems can fail and lead to severe consequences including fire outbreaks, equipment damage and production shutdowns. Today, Nationwide announced two new partnerships with Teledyne FLIR and PrevTech Innovations to help agriculture customers and partners mitigate these electrical risks before they evolve into dangerous and costly outcomes.

“As a protection company, we’re regularly exploring new ways to offer enhanced protection and peace of mind for our customers. Electrical failures can lead to detrimental impacts for a farm or commercial agribusiness, but more than two-thirds of failures can be prevented by having a routine preventive maintenance program in place1,” said Brad Liggett, president of Agribusiness at Nationwide. “We’re proud to be the first U.S. insurer to team up with these innovative companies to get their solutions directly into the hands of our customers and partners to help better protect their businesses and livelihoods.”

Teledyne FLIR thermal imaging cameras allow customers to see what’s truly going on with mechanical equipment, electrical boards/panels, insulation, and more, and identify problems before they interrupt business flow. By visualizing heat as an image with measurable temperatures, FLIR’s thermal cameras can help save you money with ongoing preventative maintenance and loss prevention, serve as an integral part of assessing downed equipment, or provide insight on how to correct faulty machinery or wiring. Nationwide’s customers and partners can now access Teledyne FLIR’s range of FLIR thermal imaging devices at a discount. Learn more here.

“We envision a future where technology and insurance harmonize to shape unparalleled solutions for our customers,” said Maria Cambria, global vice president of marketing at Teledyne FLIR. “This collaboration between Nationwide and Teledyne FLIR represents a commitment to unlocking untapped potential and propelling growth.”

With a shared goal of making farmers more resilient, PrevTech Innovations president and founder, Pierre-Andre Meunier, said the partnership is unique. “Together, we will nurture the direct relationships with farmers by helping them better address electrical hazards, guide them towards risk management best practices, and build a safe, reliable and prosperous future,” he added.
