EVP, Chief Human Resources Officer
Vinita Clements is executive vice president and Chief Human Resources Officer for Nationwide. In this role, she oversees the human resources needs of approximately 25,000 Nationwide associates. She’s responsible for leading Nationwide’s human resources strategy, including oversight for compensation and benefits, learning and development, diversity, equity and inclusion, recruitment, succession management and organizational effectiveness. Vinita is pioneering Nationwide’s workplace of the future by redesigning its approach to attracting, hiring and retaining talent. Her focus includes evolving the associate experience with increased workplace flexibility and career development opportunities.
Under her leadership, the company continues to be recognized as a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For, Searamont’s Working Mother and Father’s 100 Best Companies list, 100 percent on the Human Rights Corporate Equality Index, as well as recognition by Black Enterprise and Latina Style for Best Workplaces for Diversity, People’s Companies who Care, Fortune’s 50 Best Workplaces for Diversity and many others.
Vinita is a member of the Executive Leadership Council and the Senior HR Executives Council. She serves as a board trustee for the Columbus Symphony Orchestra and National Urban League, and on the advisory boards for Catalyst, The Ohio State University Fisher Leadership Initiative Corporate Advisory Council, and previously, the Ohio Foundation for Independent Colleges. She is also a charter member of the National Advisory Council for On Our Sleeves, the Movement for Children’s Mental Health.
Passionate about mentoring, investing in relationships and supporting community arts and education, Vinita was recently recognized as one of the 10 Most Influential Human Resources Executives to Watch, a trailblazer by Smart Business Columbus, one of the Most Influential Black Executives in Corporate America by Savoy in 2022, and was named to the Diversity Woman Elite 100 in 2023.
