Six Times in Six Years: Nationwide on Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For”

For the sixth consecutive year, Nationwide has been named to Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. The annual survey serves as the national benchmark for rating companies that deliver high performance while creating an outstanding and supportive corporate culture.

“There are many things that make Nationwide a great place to work, but I believe what really sets us apart is our associates and their efforts to create a positive, inclusive environment while caring for members, communities and each other every day,” said Nationwide Chief Executive Officer Kirt Walker.

Nationwide promotes a culture that provides meaningful and engaging growth opportunities for associates across the organization. The company recently announced a new five-year, $160 million investment to reskill and upskill its workforce and increase bonus incentive targets. The investment will equip associates in digital literacy and future capabilities training.

“We are proud to once again be on this prestigious list,” said Gale King, Nationwide’s Chief Administrative Officer. “We know that our people are the key to our success, and we firmly believe that if we invest in them, they will invest in us.”

In addition, Nationwide is introducing a Summer Fridays pilot in 2020. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, Nationwide associates who choose to participate will have the ability to condense five standard work days into four twice per month, giving them two Fridays off each month during the summer.

The company also recently added two weeks to the paternity, maternity and adoption leave benefit, bringing it to up to 14 weeks of paid time off for new moms and 30 days of bonding time for fathers, domestic partners and adoptive parents.

Nationwide employs 28,000 associates across the country.
