Nationwide names Trisha Barhorst leader of Personal Lines Operations
- In her new role, Barhorst will oversee claims, servicing and underwriting operations while advancing the organization’s operating discipline
- Barhorst has held Nationwide leadership roles across Marketing, Sales, Staff Operations, Underwriting and Claims
- Most recently, Barhorst led Nationwide’s Personal Lines Property Claims organization
Nationwide has announced that Trisha Barhorst will become the new leader of Personal Lines Operations, effective Aug. 17. In her new role, Barhorst will oversee claims, servicing and underwriting operations while advancing the organization’s operating discipline. Barhorst will succeed Jeff Rommel, senior vice president, Personal Lines Operations, who recently announced his plans to retire in January 2027.
Throughout her 17 years at Nationwide, Barhorst has held leadership roles across Marketing, Sales, Staff Operations, Underwriting and Claims. Barhorst brings a unique combination of operational expertise, customer focus and a deep commitment to developing talent.
Most recently, Barhorst led Nationwide’s Personal Lines Property Claims organization where she helped strengthen operational performance, modernize capabilities and enhance the customer and associate experience.

Barhorst obtained both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from The Ohio State University. Outside of her duties with Nationwide, she serves on the board of Ohio 4-H Foundation.
