Nationwide Named New Provider for $1.1 Billion Philadelphia Deferred Compensation Plans

Columbus, OH - The City of Philadelphia recently named Nationwide as its exclusive 457(b) and 401(a) retirement plans provider. Together, the plans serve approximately 21,700 participants with $1.1 billion in assets as of Dec. 31, 2017.

Those participants are a broad range of city employees. In addition to recordkeeping and administrative services, Nationwide will provide education and communications programs designed to engage and motivate participants to prepare for retirement.

The addition of the Philadelphia plan expands Nationwide’s significant market share in serving the retirement needs of America’s public workers. Nationwide now serves as the plan provider for nearly 4,300 cities across the country.
