Nationwide Announces New Leadership in Programs Organization

Amber Wayne joining Programs team as leader of Specialty and Professional Liability Programs for E&S/Specialty

Nationwide has named Amber Wayne as leader of Specialty and Professional Liability Programs. Amber will lead the team focused on the continued profitable growth and success of the professional programs portfolio.  

“Amber’s experience and extensive leadership skills will help to further develop the talented team of leaders and underwriters,” said John Lopes, executive vice president of Programs & Alternative Risk. “Her finance background will enable us to continue along our program lifecycle journey, setting appropriate KPIs and benchmarks for portfolio optimization.” 

Since December 2019, Amber has served as vice president and chief financial officer of Nationwide E&S/Specialty. With more than 27 years of experience in the insurance industry, Amber has a proven track record of strategic planning, managing financial results and working with multiple business units and departments. Amber was instrumental in the diversification of our Nationwide portfolio with several mergers and acquisitions and significant start-ups such as Management Liability and Specialty and Nationwide Private Client. 

Prior to her current role, Amber served as vice president of operations for Nationwide Private Client. She has also held Finance AVP roles supporting Contract, Brokerage, MLS and Private Client. 

Originally from Independence, Oregon, Amber earned her undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and her master's degree from Arizona State University.
