Jen Kyung to lead Nationwide’s P&C Business Performance Office
Nationwide is turning to a 25-year insurance industry veteran to lead its new Property and Casualty Business Performance Office. Jen Kyung has been tapped to head up the team and is charged with working across Nationwide’s P&C organization to optimize the business’s capabilities, standards and performance.
Kyung spent more than five years at USAA, where she led underwriting strategy and innovation, integrating AI solutions, automation and enhanced data analytics to improve underwriting precision and customer solutions. Prior to that, she held leadership roles at Ernst & Young, where she led underwriting business transformations; Zurich Insurance, where she oversaw large-scale strategic initiatives; and Accenture, where she built foundational expertise in P&C underwriting operations in Commercial and Personal Lines.
“Nationwide’s P&C business is widely regarded across the industry as best in class,” said Kyung. “My goal is to take the work the talented and high-performing associates are doing to the next level by finding ways to do things more efficiently to the betterment of our customers and distribution partners.”
The newly formed P&C Business Performance Office will collaborate closely with Nationwide’s P&C businesses to identify common approaches, tools and best practices that can be shared across the P&C organization to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Kyung’s leadership is well regarded in the P&C industry. Among many notable awards and affiliations, she served as the chair of the Insurance Information Institute’s (Triple-I) Executive Leadership Committee from 2020 to 2024 and was recognized as one of Reuters’ Trailblazing Women in Insurance in 2024.
Kyung begins her new duties on April 21, 2025.
