Nationwide’s Retirement Solutions Operations to be led by Cheryl Thompson

For many reasons – her passion for driving participant outcomes, business results and developing talent, to name a few – Cheryl Thompson was selected to lead Nationwide Financial’s Retirement Solutions Operations team. In this role, Thompson will lead retirement plan support services for the company. Thompson takes over for Wendy Shaw, who will lead the Nationwide Shared Business Solutions team.  

Thompson will continue to focus on delivering extraordinary service to plan participants and partners, which remains critical as retirement savers navigate ongoing market volatility and high inflation.

With an extensive 34-year career at Nationwide, including her most recent role as associate vice president of Retirement Solutions Operations, Thompson has demonstrated a proven ability to lead contact centers and support departments to improve customer experiences and simplify processes.

Recently, Nationwide’s Retirement Solutions business was awarded two top service awards from DALBAR, both the Customer Experience Excellence Award and Plan Participant Service Award, for its exceptional service and phone support.

Thompson joined Nationwide in 1989 and has continued her professional journey with various leadership positions across the company.
